Milford Hospital conducted a comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to evaluate the basic and health needs of individuals living in our community. The CHNA will be utilized by the hospital as a planning tool in developing, adopting and implementing a strategy to address the needs of our residents. At our November 18th Annual Meeting, Milford Hospital President and CEO, Joseph Pelaccia announced that the hospital has been recognized as a 2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States. The hospital was recognized as part of The Joint Commission's 2014 annual report "America's Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety", for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for Heart Failure, Pneumonia and Surgical Care. Milford Hospital is one of six hospitals in Connecticut to achieve this distinction.
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has named Milford Hospital a Blue Distinction Center+ in Knee and Hip Replacement. The Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care program is a national designation awarded by Blue Cross and Blue Shield to medical facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering quality specialty care.

Some cuts only need a bandage, while others require much more care. On Tuesday, March 31st at 6:30pm, the experienced staff from the Advanced Wound Care Center at Milford Hospital will offer a program on Wound Care Basics. Get to know how certain conditions may limit your body's ability to heal. Learn more about identifying wounds, how to care for them and when to seek medical attention for a non-healing wound. On Saturday, March 28th, The Milford Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting "Breakfast with the Easter Bunny."
This special event will take place in the Milford Hospital Auditorium at 10:00am. Cost is $7.00 per adult, $5.00 per child and includes breakfast, visits with the Easter Bunny and more.
