Admitting Representative

Responsibilities include:  Registering patient for ER, Private Referral, Maternity as well as Direct Admission and upgrades from ER to Inpatient.  Follow through on all daily inpatient functions.  Will verify all demographic information as well as verifying insurance information through various websites.  Pre-Registration for all elective procedures and obtain pre-certifications.  Requirements:  Must have excellent interpersonal skills, with attention to detail, be an independent worker, able to multi-task, be able to type and have computer and Internet experience.  Insurance experience required. Meditech experience a plus and medical terminology is preferred. 

40 hrs / week -  11:00PM- 7:00AM -  Sunday - Thursday, includes rotating holidays.  Position available beginning in November.

27.5 hrs/wk, - 7:00AM-1:00PM,  Monday - Friday, including rotating holidays.

 

Cook

Must have "Serve-Safe" Certification or "Serve Safe" within 6 months of hire.  Nursing Home or Hospital Cook experience preferred.  Will prepare food and service for patients and staff.  Prior restaurant / healthcare / clinical food service experience preferred.  Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. with extended periods of standing and walking.

16 hrs / wk - weekends;  6 AM - 2:30PM or 10:30AM - 7:30PM depending on the Dept. needs.  Every weekend with occasional holiday coverage.

24 hrs / wk - weekends and one day per week; 6AM - 2:30PM or 10:30AM - 7:30PM depending on the Dept. needs.  Occasional holiday coverage.

Dietetic Technician

Per Diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept. - Hours of coverage when needed would be 6:45 a - 3:15p. There are no guarantee of weekly hours and no benefits with this position. Performs technician duties associated with the nutritional care and food service for patients. Responsibilities include meal planning, diet education menu collection and correction, and patient nutritional screenings. Associates Degree and Registration (or Registration eligible) as a Dietetic Technician required, or a Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition.

Food Services Supervisor

Must be a certified Qualified Food Operator (QFO) with supervisory experience in a Healthcare/clinical setting; diet tech experience. Will be accountable for the supervision and coordinator of activities in the kitchen and patient food service areas. Insure that the patients diet orders are properly processed and served in accordance to doctors' orders and department standards. Participates in the Meals on Wheels program, patient service review, quality assessment and in-service education activities. Will coordinate department sanitation and cleaning program. Assists the Director in purchasing, accounts payable and maintenance of Department records. 

(2) 16 hrs./wk, 6 AM - 2:30 PM; 11 AM - 7:30 PM depending on the Dept. needs, every weekend, with occasional holiday coverage.

General Maintenance Mechanic

40 hrs./wk.  7:00AM - 3:30PM with an equal rotation with the Engineering staff of weekends and holidays,  with occasional 2nd and 3rd shift coverage.  Must be a high school graduate with 3-5 years experience in building maintenance.  Must be able to climb ladders and handle items weighing 50 lbs or more.  Primary Function:  Repair and maintain Hospital structure and equipment; capable of performing repairs to electrical circuitry and equipment.  Performs repairs to the Hospital plumbing systerm, heating systems, pneumatically operated control, fire sprinkler system, nurse call, etc.  Make rounds of the Hospital with maintenance cart, performing routine and preventive maintenance.  This function also involves referring large repairs to the Maintenance Department, communicating the status of such repairs to personnel of other departments and some contact with patients.  Works with all power driven equipment such as sewer cleaners, hand drills and woodworking machinery etc.  Other duties include snow removal, trash pick up, furniture moving and any other tasks that might be assigned.

INPATIENT CODER

Will code inpatient medical recors concurrently using the 3M Encoder, APR-DRG and MS-DRG Grouper.  Electronically queries medical staff during concurrent coding process to obtain documentation clarification for accurate complete coding.   Requirements:   Three years of Hospital inpatient coding experience; RHIT/RHIA and CCS or CPC-H credential required.

Imaging Specialist / Film Library

Per Diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept.  No guarantee of hours and no benefits with this position  Purpose and Objective is to provide skilled office support to the Diagnostic Imaging Techonologists and Radiologists by understanding the workings of the department and by utilizing a network of computerized systems, including Meditech, Powerscribe and Stentor.  Will provide quality service to patients, physicians and technologists; will participate in the daily operations of the Diagnostic Imaging Dept.   Will register and pre-register patients.   Qualifications:  High School Graduate or equivalent.  Experience in an Imaging Office or similar medical setting strongly preferred;  knowledge of medical terminology/imaging procedure terminology.  Must have excellent communication skills verbal and written; excellent organizational and problem solving skills.

OPERATOR

Per diem position to cover hours as needed on the Switchboard. No guarantee of hours worked/no benefits. Coverage needed for all shifts, but primarily needed for the 2nd and 3rd shift.   Some weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Prior office phone experience needed; Switchboard experience a plus.

Radiologic Technologist

Per diem position to cover hours as needed in within the Dept.  No guarantee of hours worked; no benefits with this position.  Includes weekend coverage and one holiday.  Primary Function:  Performs optimal diagnostic imaging procedures in a hospital environment.  Must have the ability to manipulate and operate x-ray equipment to include fluoroscopy unit, both portable and fixed.  Demonstrates competency in all imaging exams including operating room procedures and trauma work with the knowledge and expertise of all job responsibilities in various clinical settings using various imaging equipment.  ARRT registry or registry pending and CT State License Required.

REGISTERED NURSE POSITIONS

Intensive Care Unit

(#622-11R)  3PM - 11:30PM,  24 hours.   ICU experience preferred.  3 years med/surg/telemetry experience required,   ACLS required.

(#646-12R)  7:00PM - 7:30AM,  36 hours /wk (3 x 12hrs). ICU experience preferred.  3 years med/surg/telemetry experience required,   ACLS required.

Memorial 2 West

(#659-12C): 24 hrs./wk.  7:00AM - 3:30M including every other weekend (on: 2 & 4) and every other holiday.  (Off Memorial Day)

Emergency Center

(#654-12R) 11:00 PM - 7:00AM,  24 hrs./ wk. 1 year Emergency Nursing experience required, ACLS required, PALS required.

(#662-12R) 7:00AM- 7:30PM,  36 hrs / wk.  (3 x 12hrs).   1 year Ermergency Nursing exerience required.  ACLS required; PALS preferred.

Receptionist / Desk Clerk

Greets, screens, and directs patients and visitors to various hospital departments and services, issues visitor passes and covers the switchboard during meal times and and breaks. Switchboard coverage is required. Qualifications: Must project a positive and professional image of Milford Hospital at all times. Clerical, reception and switchboard experience needed. Excellent communication skills with basic computer Knowledge required.

Service Aide / Float

Duties include general cleaning, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of floors, trash, linen and medical waste removal.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; climbing ladders required.  Must be able to push and replace trash, linen and cardboard carts as needed as well as bring trash to outside dumpster.

40 hrs./wk.  11:00PM - 7:00AM, including every other weekend and holiday.

24 hrs. / wk.  7:00AM - 3:30PM,  including every other weekend and holiday. 

20 hrs./wk.  5:00PM - 9:00PM  Monday - Friday and every other holiday. 

12hrs./wk.  7:00PM- 11:00PM weekdays,  5:00PM - 9:00PM every other weekend and every other holiday.
