The Milford Hospital Walk-in Center opened in early 2007, offering urgent care services to more than 12,000 patients a year. Plans are already underway to expand the center by 50% to meet the extraordinary demand for its services. The hospital recently opened the Connecticut Joint Center with a specialized nine-bed medical wing specifically for the growing demand for hip, knee and shoulder replacement surgery. This past decade the hospital completed an award-winning $28 million expansion and renovation project, centered around patient needs.

The first level is devoted to the centralization of outpatient services - a new and expanded Emergency Care Center and an Ambulatory Diagnostic and Treatment Center that includes all of the services a patient needs for convenient, same day, outpatient services.

The needs of the surgical patients are addressed on the second level with a flexibly designed Ambulatory SurgiCenter and four new operating suites, designed to evolve with the technological advances in surgery and meet the needs of the surgical patients.

On the third level, the Intensive Care Unit has ten modern private rooms, fully equipped with a state-of-the-art monitoring system. On the same floor is the new Family Childbirth Center which provides single room maternity care in aesthetically pleasing private rooms, combining the amenities of home with advanced technology; both for the mother and newborn.

The main entrance at 300 Seaside Ave. includes Central Registration, a new and expanded tax-free Gift Shop, additional conference space for a wide range of community health programs, ample, free and convenient parking and in-door walkway connectors to the recently updated inpatient medical/surgical units.

The hospital offers a comprehensive community health education program and affiliated off campus medical laboratory, radiology, and home care services.
