ADMINISTRATION

FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT: The Financial Administrative Assistant will provide support to the Vice President of Finance. The successful candidate must have 3 years related business experience, advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Word and Outlook. This unique position requires the candidate to have secretarial and accounting skills. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills with careful attention to detail. Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and have the flexibility to perform a wide variety of assignments. Must demonstrate professionalism and present a tactful reception to all visitors and staff. The ability to demonstrate discretion in handling confidential information is also required. An Associate's degree in business or accounting is preferred.

ADMITTING

REPRESENTATIVE:
Responsibilities include: registering patients for the Emergency Center, outpatient private referral, Emergency Center admissions, direct admissions, and maternity admissions. Work with nursing staff for proper bed assignment, pre-registration for elective surgeries, obtaining pre-certification from insurance companies. Verifying insurance information via insurance payer's websites, collection of co-payments, opening and closing of cash drawer. Requirements: Must have good interpersonal skills, be an independent worker, multi-task, be able to type and have computer and Internet experience. Meditech and 3rd party payer insurance experience preferred with previous admitting experience.

(2) Per Diem positions available to cover hours as needed within the Dept.; no guarantee of hours worked and no benefits.

12 hrs./wk. Tuesday, Friday and every other weekend 6 PM - 10 PM including rotating holidays.


BUSINESS OFFICE

RECOVERY AUDIT CONTRACTOR, MANAGER: 40 hrs./wk. Will oversee, coordinate and maintain the Hospital's preparedness and response to the Medicare Recovery Audit Contractor process, and act as the Hospital contact person for any reviews, inquires and/or audits. Responsibilities include monitoring the timeliness of activities, responses and appeals; tracking data; identifying issues and trends or RAC denials, maintaining expert knowledge of compliance issues including knowledge of Federal healthcare billing rules and regulations; and overseeing ongoing education and awareness of RAC requirements, processes and procedures. Must be able to perform clinical chart & billing audits; have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration or a related area; a strong demonstrated knowledge of healthcare reimbursement rules & methodologies, an analytical mind, at least 3-5 years of experience in health care compliance, coding, denials and revenue cycle management and spreadsheet and database applications experience. The ideal candidate is an RN with case management and certified coding experience in a hospital setting.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES



LEAD SERVICE AIDE: Per diem hours to cover as needed within the Dept. No guarantee of weekly hours - no benefits.

LEAD AIDE/FLOOR REFINISHER: 40 hrs./wk. 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM including every other weekend and holiday. Supervisory experience and floor/carpet experience needed. General cleaning including trash and linen pickups; buffing, stripping and waxing floors. Bending and lifting 50 lbs. required.

SERVICE AIDE/FLOOR REFINISHER: 40 hrs./wk. Monday - Friday 3 PM - 11:30 PM with rotating holidays. Duties include general cleaning, sweeping and mopping of floors; shampooing of carpets; buffing, stripping and waxing of floors; bending and lifting up to 50 lbs. required. Must have prior floor care experience.

FOOD & NUTRITIONAL SERVICES 

SUPERVISOR: Must be a certified Qualified Food Operator (QFO) with supervisory experience in a Healthcare/clinical setting; diet tech experience. Will be accountable for the supervision and coordinator of activities in the kitchen and patient food service areas. Insurance that the patients diet orders are properly processed and service in accordance to doctors' orders and department standards. Participates in the Meals on Wheels program, patient service review, quality assessment and in-service education activities. Will coordinate department sanitation and cleaning program. Assists the Director in purchasing, accounts payable and maintenance of Department records.

16 hrs./wk. 6 AM - 2:30 PM; 11 AM - 7:30 PM, every weekend, with occasional holiday coverage.

16 hrs./wk, 6 AM - 2:30 PM; 11 AM - 7:30 PM during the week, with weekend and holiday rotation.

(2) per diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept. including weekend and holidays; no guarantee of hours and no benefits.

DIETETIC TECHNICIAN: Per diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept., including holidays and weekends. Performs technical duties associated with the nutritional care and food service for patients. Responsibilities include meal planning, diet education menu collection and correction, and patient nutritional screenings. Associates Degree and Registration (or Registration eligible) as a Dietetic Technician required, or a Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition.

FOOD SERVICE WORKER: Per diem position, to cover hours as needed within the Dept. including holidays and weekends, multiple shifts, 6 AM - 2:30 PM, 7 AM - 3:30 PM, 11 AM - 7:30 PM, 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM.Duties include basic food preparation and service for patients and staff with possible rotation through the dish room, tray line and cafeteria.


COOK: Per diem position to cover hours as needed within the Dept. including holidays and weekends. 6 AM - 2:30 PM, 10:30 AM - 7 PM. Will prepare food and service for patients and staff. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. with extended periods of standing and walking. Must have "Serve Safe" Certification within 6 months of employment. Prior Restaurant/Healthcare/Clinical food service experience preferred.

INFORMATION SERVICE

INFORMATION DESK RECEPTIONIST/CLERK: Per Diem position available to cover hours as needed primarily on the 6 PM - 8:30 PM shift and possible coverage for weekend and holiday shifts 9 AM - 5:30 PM or 12 Noon - 8:30 PM shifts. Will be required to cover the switchboard. No guarantee of hours/no benefits. Greets, screens and directs patients and visitors to various hospital departments and services. Issues visitor passes. Chemistry - Per Diem position - coverage needed for variable hours and shifts within the Dept. - coverage primarily on the 4 PM - Midnight shift. No guarantee of weekly hours - no benefits. Experience is required.

PCR LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (MML-MDX LAB): 40 hrs./wk. 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday - Friday) Duties include precision pipetting, operating PCR Instruments including Thermo-Cycler and Sequence Analyzer. Must have excellent computer skills and experience is required.

MEDICAL RECORDS


ER CODER:
Per Diem or up to 20 hrs/wk. Candidate must be a Certified Coding Specialist to perform Emergency Dept. professional and facility coding and charging. Responsible for coding and abstracting emergency medical records in addition to performing medical necessity, supply charging and drug reconciliation procedures. Assigns the E&M level code, procedure code and charge entry for both physician and hospital. Requirements: CPC, CCS or RHIT credential required. Extensive knowledge of ICD-9-Cm and CPT and professional and facility charging and E/M coding principles and guidelines required. Extensive knowledge of federal, state and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to documentation, coding, charging and billing required. At least 2-3 years of hospital ED coding experience preferred. Knowledge of 3M and Meditech applications preferred. Skills and Abilities: HIM regulatory knowledge; understanding of Clinical coding and billing issues; Meditech user experience, HIPAA knowledge. Must have the ability to prioritize and exercise independent judgment; demonstrated ability to use initiative and to learn new skills.

 


NURSING ADMINISTRATION

MANAGER - Emergency Center: Full time position - 24-hour accountability for EC operations. Will manage the day-to-day operations and resources of our ECC and the Walk-In Center to include quality patient care, staff development and ensuring a high level of patient and staff satisfaction. A valid CT RN license, BSN or equivalent, masters preferred. Emergency medicine management/supervisory experience are required - 5 years professional experience in acute care and 3-5 years management experience. Experience in a computerized clinical documentation environment is desired. Certification in Emergency Nursing is a plus.

NURSING SUPERVISOR: (2) Per Diem positions to cover hours/shifts as needed within the hospital. Is responsible for the nursing care provided to patients, assures patient safety, acts as resource person to staff, resolves problems for all hospital departments, allocates and redistributes human and physical resources. Assures adequate staffing levels and mix for each nursing unit. Must be a graduate of an accredited Nursing Program and holds a current CT RN license. A Baccalaureate degree is required with a minimum of 5 years professional experience in acute care with 1-2 year's supervisor experience; BLS and ACLS.

STUDENT NURSE INTERN

This is an unpaid mentorship allowing the student nurse an opportunity to expand their current clinical knowledge base, improve organizational skills, develop nursing judgement and increase clinical competency by working 1:1 with a professional RN. You will experience nursing as it truly is, attending educational seminars offered to all nursing staff, and observe the nursing process in different settings.
