BUSINESS OFFICE

MEDICARE BILLER ANALYST: Full time position 40 hrs./wk. Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Is responsible for the collection of outstanding balances from all Commercial, HMO, PPO and Managed Care Payers. Will check status of claims by telephone, websites and/or any other means available. Will be responsible for providing information and documentation to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. Must assemble and manage all data and documents required for accurate claims follow-up with third party payers. Collection is performed on all Inpatient and Outpatient encounters. Must have the ability to perform complicated mathematical calculations to adjudicate accounts. Must have the ability to interpret contractual agreements with the payers entered into by the Hospital. Analyst will review EOB's and R/A's to insure appropriate payment or to identify denials or non-payment trends. Will be responsible for the complete follow-up procedure with Payers. Requirements: High School diploma or GED; graduate from a formal billing or Acct. Receivable training program or comparable college course work; AS degree, CPAT or CPAM certification preferred or equivalent work exp.; 1-2 years Medical Billing, healthcare/hospital experience required, with prior Meditech Client Server experience. Must have working knowledge of hospital and professional billing including analyzing a UB04 and HCFA 1500 forms. Must be proficient in Excel and Word programs; internet expertise navitgating CMS and payer websites; familiarity with medical terminology, cpt-4, ICD-9 and HCPCS coding. Must possess effective oral and written communications skills along with time management skills to permit handling a large workload.


CARDIOPULMONARY

THERAPIST: Graduate of an AMA approved two-year program for Respiratory Care with a minimum of an Associates Degree. Must be credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and Licensed by the Sate of Connecticut with one-year minimum experience.


40 hrs./wk. 3 PM - 11 PM shift. May occasionally work the 11:15 PM - 7:15 AM shift; includes every other weekend and holiday.


CASE MANAGEMENT

DIRECTOR OF CASE MANAGEMENT: Full-time position. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary health care team in the care, treatment, and services provided to a patient in a planned manner that is consistent within the scope of care, treatment and services offered by Milford Hospital. As a working clinical director activities include identifying patient specific criteria for acceptance for care, treatment, and services; and identifying the need for transfer or discharge of a patient to another level of care, treatment, and services based on the patient's assessed needs and Milford Hospital's capabilities. The Director is expected to be intimately involved in the Emergency Department decisions to admit patients, as well as supervise the disposition of inpatients. The prevention and appeal of denials will be an important function. The Director participates in quality improvement activities facilitating strategies that promote positive patient outcomes and prevent adverse events. These activities include monitoring patient outcomes, identifying undesirable patterns or trends in performance, and identifying possible adverse events and undesirable patient outcomes for further analysis. Will lead RAC efforts and share a leading role in ensuring coding core measure compliance. The Director will be involved in aspects of Meditech that are related to Case Management, such as the Utilization Review module. EDUCATION: Graduate of a state accredited School of Nursing with a valid, current Connecticut Registered Nurse License. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related degree with applicable experience may be substituted for the BSN requirement. A Masters Degree is preferred. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years professional experience that encompasses supervision and case management, utilization review, and/or discharge planning in a healthcare facility is required. Experience in case management or utilization review in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.

MT/MLT - Experience is required for the following position. Chemistry - 24 hrs./wk. Mon, Tues, Wed. 4 PM - 12:30 AM- performs technical work in varous depts., including Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Microbiology. Rotating holidays.
