PATIENT ACCESS MANAGER: Full time, 40 hrs./wk. Manages and coordinates a variety of functions within Patient Access Services relating to hospital admissions and discharges including patient registration and financial counseling, insurance verification and bed control. Responsibilities include coordinating the admitting process with medical, nursing and accounting staff to ensure appropriate placement of patients and compliance with third-party payers and other regulations; plans and schedules work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties. Prepares and/or assists with special reports, Supervises various personnel actions including hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Healthcare Administration or related field preferred; a minimum of 5 years management experience in patient Access, in an acute care hospital setting; experience in administrative and staff management; knowledge of information systems, healthcare applications and Microsoft products; Meditech experience a plus.

IMAGING ASSOCIATE:Will provide all functions necessary to process patients and images through the Diagnostic Imaging Dept. Will greet and register patients for imaging exams. Will accurately enter information into computer for billing and clinical purposes, maintain files, respond to phone requests, and provide clerical and secretarial support for the technical and professional staff. Must be a High school graduate or equivalent with experience in imaging or similar medical setting strongly preferred; computer knowledge (Meditech preferred); good oral, written communication and organizational skills preferred.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

SERVICE AIDE/FLOAT: 12 hrs/wk. at the Walk-In Center with a rotating schedule - Weekdays 7 PM - 11 PM and every other weekend 5 PM - 9 PM; will also rotating holidays . Duties include general cleaning including sweeping, mopping and vacuuming. Bending, lifting 50 lbs. and climbing ladders are required.

FOOD SERVICE SUPERVISOR: 32 hrs./wk, with floating schedule. Must have QFO license, computer skills, team player, and supervisory experience in a clinical setting. Accountable for the supervision and coordination of activities in the kitchen and patient food service areas. Insures that the patients' diet orders are processed and served in accordance to doctors' orders and department standards. Participates in the Meals On Wheels program, patient service review, quality assessment and in-service education activities.

COOK: 8 hrs. /wk. 1 day per week - 10:30 AM - 7 PM (days will vary) - Will prepare food and service for patients and staff. MML-MDX PCR TECHNOLOGIST/TECHNICIAN: 20 hrs./wk. 8:00 AM - 12 Noon, Monday - Friday with occasional weekends. Performs various technical duties in Molecular Diagnostics. Operates both automated and manual testing instrumentation, including Thermo-Cycler, DNA Sequencer and Gel Electrophoreses. Performs repetitive precision pipetting on a daily basis in a contamination-free environment. Evaluates quality control and verifies all patient results prior to release. Performs various computer operations in the Meditech computer system, including patient registration/order entry, automated and manual result entry, quality control entry and patient result reporting. Performs computer functions associated with clinical instrumentation. Experience with molecular diagnostic instrumentation, including Thermo-Cycler and Gel electrophoresis with demonstrated technical proficiency. . Experience with DNA Sequencing; demonstrated technical proficiency. Computer skills relating to Meditech and instrumentation computer systems preferred.

PHLEBOTOMIST: Will collect specimens at MML, PSC's and Nursing Homes. Experience and valid license required.

Manages and mentors personnel by recruiting, interviewing, and selecting appropriate staff. Quantifies care and provides for appropriate work force. Evaluates and counsels staff. Develops department goals that are consistent with hospital goals and mission. Collaborates with other hospital departments. Assures compliance with regulatory agency standards. Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program, holds a current RN license in the State of Connecticut, Baccalaureate degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years professional experience in acute care. 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred. BLS, ACLS preferred, computer literate (word processing, spread sheets, Windows applications), and excellent interpersonal skills, good writing skills, and good leadership skills.
